Roberson joins IU Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center’s COE

Calvin Roberson Jr., MHA, MPH, has been named operations director of the Indiana University Melvin and Bren Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center’s Office of Community Outreach and Engagement (COE).

Calvin Roberson Jr., MHA, MPH, has been named operations director of the Indiana University Melvin and Bren Simon Comprehensive Cancer Center’s Office of Community Outreach and Engagement (COE).

Roberson is responsible for implementing and evaluating the cancer center-led community outreach and engagement activities throughout Indiana. He will work with faculty and staff within the COE to meet the needs of the underserved in Indiana to reduce cancer disparities and inequities in cancer care and delivery.

In leading the COE to lower the cancer burden in Indiana, he also will work with the Indiana CTSI, IU Richard M. Fairbanks of School of Public Health at IUPUI, IU School of Nursing, Indiana Cancer Consortium, Indiana State Department of Health, Indiana Minority Health Coalition, Indiana University Health, Eskenazi Health, and other partners to support current activities and develop and implement new programs throughout the state.  

Roberson earned a bachelor’s in public health education from the University of North Carolina Greensboro, and he holds both a master’s of health administration and a master’s of public health from IU. He currently is working on a doctorate in behavioral health sciences from IU.
