Jonathan Hauenstein, professor and chair in the Department of Applied and Computational Mathematics and Statistics (ACMS), has been named one of Michiana’s “Forty under 40” for their 2021 cohort.

The Forty under 40 program by the South Bend Regional Chamber (SBRC) and the Young Professionals Network (YPN) South Bend is in its 15th year, and recognizes professionals, executives, and leaders under age 40 who have achieved outstanding professional success while also engaging the community in charitable and civic involvement.

“It is an honor to be selected as a member of the 2021 class of Michiana Forty under 40 for its recognition of both career achievements and community engagement,” Hauenstein said. “The Michiana region is a wonderful area to live in and raise a family, and I am appreciative that I have been able to give back to the community through mathematical research and education.”

Hauenstein was appointed as chair of ACMS in 2021.

In addition to Hauenstein, Diana Rowan in the Department of Human Resources and J.J. Wright, director of the Notre Dame Folk Choir, were others at the University who were recognized by the SBRC.
