INDIANAPOLIS (Feb. 11, 2020) – Energy Systems Network (ESN), Indiana’s industry-driven clean technology initiative, has elected two new members to its board of directors. Jeff Laborsky, president and CEO of Heritage Environmental Services, and Donna Walker, president and CEO of Hoosier Energy, are the latest additions to ESN’s diverse board.

“ESN welcomes two exceptional leaders to our Board of Directors,” said Doug Esamann, ESN Board chair and Duke Energy executive vice president Energy Solutions, president of Midwest and Florida Regions and president Natural Gas Business. “After celebrating 10 years in 2019, ESN is very fortunate to continue its efforts to bring new energy innovations to Indiana with two valuable and experienced industry leaders. Jeff and Donna bring diverse and unique perspectives and a network of relationships that stretch across the globe.”

Led by Laborsky since 2012, Heritage Environmental Services is the largest privately held environmental services provider in the world. By leveraging an in-house research group to solve customer challenges, Heritage offers a unique problem-solving value proposition to its customers that stretches far beyond waste treatment. Heritage has a strong track record of innovation by applying R&D and engineered solutions to large customer waste challenges, creating valuable reuse alternatives to byproducts. Prior to Heritage, Laborsky worked in the investment banking, commercial insurance and venture capital sectors. He graduated from Lehigh University and later earned an MBA from the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business.

“Developing ‘clean-tech’ solutions to meet our evolving energy needs is critically important,” said Laborsky. “The way we generate, distribute and store power today is ever evolving, and central Indiana needs to be at the forefront of new technology. ESN is providing a necessary platform for Indy-based corporate leaders to work together to bring new energy technologies to market and I’m excited for Heritage to contribute our solutions-oriented mindset to the partnership.”

Since joining Hoosier Energy in 1995, Walker progressively advanced to a senior level as executive vice president and chief financial officer prior to her role as president and chief executive officer. Walker is a life-long Indiana resident, received her Bachelor of Science in Business with High Distinction from Indiana University, and is a Certified Public Accountant.

“ESN’s vision, mission and focus are an ideal match with Hoosier Energy’s,” said Walker.  “It’s a true privilege to serve on the Board. I look forward to this unique opportunity to collaborate with such a distinguished group of global thought leaders.”
